A true old-school TerpHogz selection, this 3rd Generation Zkittlez (Original Z) cut is a reminder of why Z became one of the most influential cultivars of the last decade. While she may never win a beauty contest, what this clone lacks in bag appeal it more than makes up for in flavor and aroma.
The nose is unmistakable—an intense blast of fresh lime zest and sweet grapefruit that practically jumps from the jar. Bright citrus candy notes dominate the profile, backed by the complex tropical funk that made original Z famous. The terpene profile is so loud that it was originally sold almost exclusively as pre-rolls, where its absolutely incredible flavor could take center stage. Those fortunate enough to smoke it quickly learned that appearances can be deceiving.
The vapor thru my Volcano Classic delivers an exceptionally smooth and flavorful experience, coating the palate with zesty lime and lingering grapefruit notes from beginning to end. It's the kind of cultivar that leaves cannaisseurs talking less about how it looked and more about how it tasted.
Despite its uplifting terpene profile, the effects lean distinctly indica dominant. Expect a calming, euphoric body buzz accompanied by a peaceful mental state that melts away stress without becoming overwhelmingly sedating. It's equally suited for winding down after a long day or simply appreciating one of cannabis's most legendary flavor profiles.
Of course, there is a price to pay for terps this special. Z has never been known as a heavy yielder, and this cut is no exception. Going into this run, I knew she wasn't going to produce like the plants surrounding her. Despite receiving the same amount of vegetative time, she finished at roughly half their size. To compensate, I gave her special treatment—a dedicated 200-watt light positioned beneath the canopy in addition to my usual 800-watt overhead fixture. While the rest of the garden shared the overhead light, Z enjoyed an extra 200 watts all to herself, adding to the cost of growing a cultivar that was never bred with commercial yields in mind.
Thankfully, she more than makes up for it in speed. I let her flower for 56 days this round, but truthfully she could have been harvested around day 50. That's remarkable considering I'm notorious for taking most cultivars 70 days or longer before I'm satisfied with their maturity. Z simply doesn't need that much time. When she's ready, she's ready.
Some cultivars are grown for their bag appeal. Others are grown for their yield. TerpHogz 3rd Gen Z is grown for one reason above all else—the flavor is simply off the charts.
